Carlo Report Now Available in the Money Tree Suite
It is no longer enough to prepare a simple financial planning
report for a client. Clients have become more sophisticated, and now require a
plan that is visually appealing as well as speaking to their financial planning
requirements.
The new Easy Money program has a proven track record of success. Originally
introduced to the market in 1988, the new version of Easy Money features:
Windows 95 Technology - In order to provide all of the speed and
flexibility our customers have asked for, we determined that we needed to use the 32-bit
operating system provided by Windows 95.
Database Structure - Instead of saving client data in a separate file for
each client (as we did in Easy Money PLUS), we have created a true "database"
file structure for the new version. This will enable planners to store all
clients together in one file, do global updating, search and sort for different client
characteristics, etc.
Assisted Data Entry - The new Easy Money program assists the user in
entering data in a consistent, accurate manner. Assisted operations include
automatically capitalizing, defaulting to a date or an amount, warning messages when dates
are questionable, commas, decimal points in number fields, and templates, such as dashes
and brackets. The new program also assists the user with drop-down tables
throughout the data entry sections, providing lists of specific choices for a given field.
For example, the Asset Information screen contains a field entitled
"Class" which will contain the following choices: Reserves, Income, Growth,
Growth and Income, and Aggressive Growth. Click on the arrow at the end
of the field to view your choices and then highlight your selection. The
information is now entered into the Class field in exactly the same format as other asset
records.
On-Line Help - Provides the user with helpful information about various
topics throughout the program. On-line help is available at any point to
clarify the operation of the program. The help screens include advice about
various topics including investments and taxes. A Quick Start User's Manual
and the Client Data Questionnaire are also available for viewing or printing from the Help
Menu.
The Easy Money program in its original design was intended for use with the
middle income client, although according to our users it has also proven to be very
effective for high-income or large estate clients who will relate to a more simplified
financial plan. Over the years Easy Money has evolved and changed to meet the needs of our
users, and today it is considered to be a standard in many planning offices around the
country.

Many changes have also taken place in the way that the program

but allow the user to use the mouse to jump from one screen to the next, by-passing
unnecessary entries or to make quick adjustments from one data screen to the next.
The following is a sample of the new Personal Information screen:

The Easy Money program allows you to enter all relevant client data from a
specialized data questionnaire, and then have that data automatically and immediately used
by each of the Easy Money reports. The reports themselves are written in
a non-technical style, with the latest in 100% graphical presentation. This
professional quality report formatting includes proportional fonts, bold and underlined
text, boxes, shadows, shading, and 3-D graphics embedded in report pages. Some
of the most popular reports include:
 | Net Worth Statement: Illustrates the client's
financial position, including the amount of assets, including savings, investments,
retirement accounts, and personal assets, less liabilities, such as mortgages, loans,
credit card balances, etc. Includes the graph shown below.
|
 | Estate Taxes: Provides a snapshot of the
client's exposure to income tax and estate taxes. The graph below indicates
the amount of shrinkage that could be experienced both now and in the future without
proper planning.
|
 | Education Funding: Shows parents their options
for funding their children's education. Provision for education expenses may
be made either by investing a single lump sum of money or by putting aside a regular
amount monthly or annually. The graph below shows the annual amount needed
(bars) and funding accounts for both methods (lines).
|
 | Other Reports: In addition to the above
reports, Easy Money will print and display on-screen dozens of additional reports that
will help your clients visualize potential problems and solutions in their financial
planning.
